Help Feed Families in Need this Thanksgiving!
Please consider a donation. ANY AMOUNT HELPS feed a family.
For many of us, Thanksgiving is a holiday full of love, friends and family, as we gather to enjoy a meal and time together. But for many people in the United States, this holiday is a challenge as to whether they can feed themselves or their children due to lack of resources or access to food.
Each year, Father Thien SVD helps secure over 200 Thanksgiving meals for families suffering from food insecurity in West Virginia where he serves as pastor of two county parishes.
Persistent poverty, affecting more than 15% of West Virginia's population, weighs heavily on these communities that have fallen victim to economic change and decline. Even beyond this holiday, Father Thien continues his mission through both parish food pantries to help over 800 people monthly.
We warmly invite you to become a part of our cherished tradition that brings hope and joy to families in need by donating one or more Thanksgiving meals through our food pantries.

"We probably would have starved to death."
Victoria Grose has been a volunteer at Risen Lord Food Pantry for the past eight years, but she started out as a family in need at the parish. When her three children were little, her husband was laid off from his coal mining job, and they found themselves struggling to survive.
Victoria says that Risen Lord Food Pantry got them through that awful time.
“Father Thien really cares about people in this community. He wants to see people eat and not go hungry,” as she recalled one time when the food ran out and how upset he was.
“We probably would have starved to death if not for the food pantry,” Victoria said. “I don’t know what people in this county would do without them.”
